With game sense so sharp It borders on terrifying, and a sly streak to match, he quickly makes a name for himself in the city and pulls together a faction no one dares take lightly. And through it all, his favorite pastime is teasing that golden nuisance who stays behind for the time being to search for the Treasure Boat.

Watching that glittering fool stomp and fume under his endless tricks becomes Fuzenkitsune's daily source of amusement. Until one day, everything changes in an instant. A pitch-black pillar of light suddenly tears through the heavens without warning, slamming straight into Sand City, only to vanish again in the blink of an eye. The reveling crowd takes it for some flashy new game effect, but the smile at the corner of Fuzenkitsune's lips goes cold at once.

That chilling aura is far too familiar to him. It belongs to the Shadow Kingdom. It belongs to Okuninushi. For the sake of Sand City's safety, he begins to investigate in secret. The games in Sand City are changing in subtle ways. Stages once meant only to bring thrills and fun have, at some point, been quietly tampered with, laced with designs full of malice. Within the sight of his strange eye, threads of twisted black energy spread beneath the whole city like a spiderweb, and every last one of them points straight toward the very heart of Sand City, the lord's palace.

He tries to return to the palace, only to be blocked by a seal that suddenly rises around the outer perimeter. Using a formation I design to stop me? That's almost funny. Light swirls through his strange eye, and like a ghostly shadow, he slips soundlessly through the defenses and enters the great hall. Inside, the silence is unsettling. There, seated upon the throne above, is the little doll he knows so well.

But it no longer looks the way it once does. Fuzenkitsune stops short, and his expression darkens at once. As if sensing his arrival, the doll stirs faintly, and its button-like eyes turn toward him. For a fleeting moment, it seems to recover a trace of what it used to be, and one rough little hand slowly lift, reaching out toward him....Play... with me... Fuzenkitsune steps forward by instinct, about to see what exactly has gone wrong with it, when in the next instant, the change erupts without warning.

The doll's body swells rapidly as it twists and distorts. Its once tiny frame stretches taller and taller, while several spider-like limb burst out from its back one after another. And the transformation does not stop. It keeps going, as though something is using the doll as a shell to keep growing, spiraling toward a form far more dangerous and far more unfamiliar....Play... with me...

Before the words even finish, several of those limb spear toward Fuzenkitsune all at once. His gaze sharpens. His hands flash, spreading demonic power in an instant, but within the vision of his strange eye, the flow of fortune shifts In the blink of an eye, all of it turning against him. Fuzenkitsune's heart sinks. He realizes at once that something is deeply wrong. His figure flickers, and he dashes out of the palace before the trap can close.
