Onmyoji Anniversary Summoning Roadmap & Resource Allocation Guide

Disclaimer: This guide is based on the Chinese server Anniversary event structure. Global server implementation may change, including banner order, summon rules, reward values, point requirements, translations, and timing. Always confirm the final in-game notices before spending Mystery Amulets or Jade.

The Onmyoji Anniversary event usually brings several summon-related events at once. For newer players, this can be confusing because not every summon banner contributes to the same rewards.

This guide explains the safest pull order, how to avoid wasting your guaranteed uncollected summon, and when it makes sense to chase Bonding Shrine rewards.

『Quick Recommendation』

If you are not planning to spend heavily:

  • ◆
    Finish all free summons first.
  • ◆
    Open all random SSR/SP rewards.
  • ◆
    Compose any completed shards.
  • ◆
    Check your uncollected roster.
  • ◆
Pull on the main Anniversary banner only until your first uncollected SSR/SP.
  • ◆
    Stop and save the rest.

For most players, the best strategy is not to chase every reward. The goal is to secure the highest-value guarantee while preserving resources for future banners.

『Anniversary Banner Roadmap』

The Anniversary event usually includes multiple summon phases. Each one has a different purpose.

PhaseEvent TypePurposeRecommended Action
Pre-EventCrossover or selective SSR/SP bannerOften appears before the main Anniversary eventSkip unless you fully understand the cost
Free Summon PhaseFree 100-summon poolGives free pulls from a separate poolComplete this before spending resources
Main Anniversary BannerFeatured Anniversary summon bannerExpected source of Hundred Plume HououkaSP and uncollected summon mechanicsMain target for most players
Bonding ShrinePoint-based exchange shopAllows selected exchanges if you have enough pointsOnly chase if you are already close or have deep reserves

The main Anniversary banner is usually the most important banner because it is tied to the new Anniversary unit and major summon guarantees.

『Important: Free 100 Summons Are Not the Same as Paid Summons』

The free 100-summon pool is valuable, but it should not be counted as part of your paid summon plan.

Based on the CN structure, the free summon pool has separate rules:

  • ◆
Free summons do not give Bonding Shrine points.
  • ◆
Free summons do not count toward main summon milestone rewards.
  • ◆
Free summons usually come from a separate pool.
  • ◆
The newest Anniversary unit may not be available from this pool.

This means you should never include the free 100 summons when calculating how many pulls you need for Bonding Shrine milestones.

Think of the free summons as a roster-cleanup step, not as progress toward the main Anniversary pity or shop rewards.

『The Golden Rule: Always Pull in the Correct Order』

Before spending Mystery Amulets or Jade on the main Anniversary banner, follow this order:

Step 1: Complete all free summons
Step 2: Open all random SSR/SP reward boxes
Step 3: Compose any completed SSR/SP shards
Step 4: Check your current uncollected roster
Step 5: Start pulling on the main Anniversary banner

This order matters because your uncollected guarantee depends on what your account is missing at the time you summon.

For example, if you have 49/50 shards for an SSR and pull before composing it, your uncollected guarantee could land on that same SSR. If you compose it first, your uncollected pool becomes cleaner.

This is one of the easiest ways to avoid wasting a valuable Anniversary guarantee.

『Main Goal: Hundred Plume Hououka Hundred Plume HououkaSP』

If Global follows the CN structure, Hundred Plume HououkaSP is expected to be the key Anniversary summon target.

However, players should avoid assuming that every CN rule will carry over exactly. Treat Hundred Plume HououkaSP as the main expected target, but wait for Global event notices before finalizing your spending plan.

『Strategy for Full SSR Collection Players』

This section applies if your account owns all released SSR units before the Anniversary banner begins.

  • ◆
Skip the pre-event bait banner unless you have a specific reason to pull.
  • ◆
Complete the free 100 summons first.
  • ◆
    Open random SSR/SP rewards.
  • ◆
    Compose completed shards.
  • ◆
Pull on the main Anniversary banner until your first uncollected SSR/SP result.
  • ◆
Stop immediately after the guarantee triggers.

If the Global structure follows CN and your account already owns all previous SSR units, your first uncollected result should be highly valuable because your missing pool is much smaller.

Do not keep pulling just because the banner is live. Anniversary events are designed to drain resources, and future banners may arrive quickly.

『Strategy for Non-Full Collection Players』

This section applies if you are still missing older SSR or SP shikigami.

  • ◆
Complete the Golden Rule steps first.
  • ◆
Pull on the main Anniversary banner until your first uncollected SSR/SP.
  • ◆
Stop after the uncollected result appears.
  • ◆
Do not chase a specific unit unless you have a large resource reserve.

For most non-full collection accounts, the Anniversary banner is best used as a roster expansion opportunity. Your guarantee may not land on Hundred Plume HououkaSP, but it can still give you a missing SSR/SP and improve your account.

Trying to force one specific unit through low-rate pulls can become very expensive.

『Bonding Shrine Strategy』

The Bonding Shrine is a point-based exchange system tied to eligible paid summons. If Global follows the CN structure, players may be able to exchange points for an uncollected shikigami at a high milestone.

This is powerful, but only if your account has enough points or enough resources to reach the required amount safely.

When Bonding Shrine Is Worth Considering

You can consider chasing the Bonding Shrine exchange if:

  • ◆
You already have a large point balance.
  • ◆
You have enough Mystery Amulets and Jade to reach the milestone.
  • ◆
You are comfortable spending a large number of pulls.
  • ◆
You still have several valuable uncollected shikigami.

When You Should Skip Bonding Shrine

You should avoid chasing Bonding Shrine if:

  • ◆
You are far from the required point milestone.
  • ◆
You would need to empty your entire resource stock.
  • ◆
You are only pulling because you feel close.
  • ◆
You cannot guarantee that you will reach the exchange before the event ends.

Stopping early is often better than getting stuck halfway to a shop reward.

『High-Resource Planning Examples』

The exact values may change on Global, so treat these as planning examples based on CN-style structure.

If You Are Already Close to the Bonding Shrine Milestone

If your current Bonding Shrine point balance is already high, it may be efficient to pull on the main Anniversary banner until you reach the exchange threshold.

Possible result:

  • ◆
One uncollected result from the banner.
  • ◆
One uncollected exchange from Bonding Shrine.

This can be a strong plan for players who are already close before the Anniversary event begins.

If You Are Midway to the Milestone

If you are somewhere in the middle, be careful. You may need a large number of pulls to finish the milestone.

Only continue if you can realistically reach the exchange without draining resources needed for future banners.

If You Are Far From the Milestone

If your Bonding Shrine points are low, do not chase the exchange unless you are prepared for a major summon commitment.

For most players, the better plan is:

  • ◆
Pull until the first valuable uncollected result.
  • ◆
    Stop.
  • ◆
    Save remaining resources.

『Beginner-Friendly Stop Rules』

Use these stop rules if you are unsure what to do.

Account TypeGoalStop Rule
Full SSR collectionTarget Hundred Plume HououkaSP through the best available guaranteeStop after the first uncollected result
Missing older SSR/SP unitsImprove roster efficientlyStop after the first uncollected result
High-resource accountMaximize uncollected rewardsStop once your planned Bonding Shrine exchange is secured
Low-resource accountPreserve Mystery Amulets and JadeStop early and save for future banners

The most important rule is simple: decide your stopping point before you start pulling.

『Common Mistakes to Avoid』

Mistake 1: Counting Free Summons Toward Bonding Shrine

Free summons are helpful, but they usually do not give Bonding Shrine points. Do not include them in your milestone math.

Mistake 2: Pulling Before Cleaning Up Your Roster

Always finish free summons, open boxes, and compose shards first. This reduces the chance of wasting an uncollected guarantee.

Mistake 3: Chasing After Your First Guarantee

Once your first uncollected result appears, the value of additional pulls usually drops sharply unless you are specifically targeting a Bonding Shrine milestone.

Mistake 4: Spending Because of FOMO

Anniversary banners feel important, but Onmyoji is a long-term resource management game. Saving after a good result is often the correct decision.

For most players, the safest Anniversary roadmap is:

  • ◆
    Complete the free 100 summons.
  • ◆
    Open all SSR/SP reward items.
  • ◆
    Compose completed shards.
  • ◆
    Review your uncollected roster.
  • ◆
Pull on the main Anniversary banner.
  • ◆
Stop after your first uncollected SSR/SP.
  • ◆
Only continue if you have a clear Bonding Shrine plan.

If Global follows the CN structure, this approach gives you the best balance between Anniversary value and long-term resource preservation.

Remember: a good Anniversary summon plan is not about pulling the most. It is about knowing when to stop.
